Description
A dial depth gauge with a precision needle point for measuring depths in increments as small as one half of one thousandth of an inch (0.0005").
Specifically designed for measuring the depth of engravings, etchings, small slots, etc.
The fine point and 'knife edge' base allow for precise positioning over narrow and small areas and the gauge is especially useful for measuring the depth of etchings and engravings.
A light touch on the button on the top of the gauge advances the needle point until it contacts the bottom of an area to be measured.
The measured depth is easily read from the clock face type dial in 0.0005" increments.
The base length is 2.5" (63.5mm). The dial is graduated to read plus and minus from 0 to +0.025" and from 0 to -0.025". Overall measuring range is 0 to 0.125".
Zero setting of the dial is quick and easy by turning the dial face.
The shaft diameter of the gauge is 0.176" (4.47mm) and the shaft is 0.527" (13.39mm) long to the shoulder. The point is a 40 degree included angle.
