Description
A single sided Tinners Circumference Ruler or Rule which features a regular measuring scale on the top edge graduated in 1/16" and a circumference scale on the bottom edge graduated in 'circumference' inches in 1/8".
Tinners circumference rulers or rules are especially useful when fabricating round ducts, ducting, pipes, tubes, etc..
If the diameter of a round object is measured, the circumference scale provides the actual circumference or perimeter of the item being measured in inches to 1/8".
For example: If a round tube is measured, the top scale on the ruler will display the actual diameter of the tube and the bottom scale the actual circumference or perimeter of the tube. A six inch diameter tube would be 6 on the top scale and just below 18 and 7/8 on the bottom scale. Circumference may also be calculated by multiplying the diameter by pi, thus 6 x 3.14159 = 18.84954.
These rulers are manufactured from stainless steel with etched and black filled graduations and graphics for a lifetime of use.
The overall length of the regular measuring scale is 48" and the circumference scale will measure up to 150.75 circumference inches. The rulers are flush ended, zero (0) is at the very end of the ruler. The rulers are 1.25" wide and 0.030" thick with a convenient 1/4" (6.35mm) diameter hanging hole at one end.
All graduations and markings are etched and black filled.
